The area $A$ of the region under the graph of a function $f \left(x\right) \ge 0$ above the x-axis from $x = a$ and $x = b$ can be found by

$A = {\int}_{a}^{b} f \left(x\right) \mathrm{dx}$

I hope that this was helpful.
