An improper fraction is one in which the numerator is larger than or equal to the denominator.

#5# essentially is #5/1#, and so that's how you can write it in terms of an improper fraction.

Any number divided by #1# is the number itself.

Other examples of this are:

(i) #2/1=2#

(ii) #42791/1=42791#

(iii) #8/1=8#
