Line equation: y = ax + b

Explanation:

Equation of the line: y = ax + b. Find a and b by writing that the line passing at point (-1, 6) and (2, -3)

(1) -> 6 = -a + b -> b = a + 6

(2) -> - 3 = 2a + b -> 2a + (a + 6) = - 3 -> 3a = -9 -> a = -3

b = a + 6 = -3 + 6 = 3

Line equation: y = -3x + 3

Check with point (-1, 6): 6 = -(-3) + 3 = 6. OK
