Fermions collide with the surface they loose heat into Space and become weaker.

Explanation:

As we know that a White Dwarf is a dead Extremely massive Star about the size of the Earth but mass of the Sun. So, with such high density and such small size, the fermions are extremely tightly bound together so they strike the surface of the white dwarf much more vigorously. This is what balances the inward acting gravity and keeps the Star from collapsing into nothing. This is called Degeneracy Pressure.

As the fermions collide with the surface they loose heat into Space and become weaker.
