How does acid rain affect the trees?

1 Answer

It harms plants and other life forms.

Explanation:

Eventhough acid rain does not usually kill trees directly, it weakens and damages the trees.

When leaves are damaged, they cannot conduct photosynthesis in order to produce energy.

The cosequences are: limitationof nutrients available, poisoning them with toxic substances that are released when in contact with the soil. These substances could then be washed away towards rivers, sea or lakes.

Acidic water can also dissolve nutrients and minerals in the soil.
