How does one go about creating "original" posts for Socratic? I would be interested in creating a series of screencasts for microeconomics, macroeconomics and maybe other subjects.

Here's what you could do.

Explanation:

The way I see it, you have two choices for creating original content on Socratic.

Your first option is to add the screencasts as videos that will be visible at the top of the topic page.

To do that, go to the topic page that corresponds to the content of your screencast. For example, I chose Macroeconomics #-># Inflation #-># Costs of inflation.

The videos are displayed at the top of the page. Once you get here, click the Add yours button located to the upper right of the displayed video.

This will get you the YouTube Sign In screen.

On Socratic, all videos posted on topic pages are embedded from YouTube, so your only option here is to update your screencasts to YouTube first, then add them to Socratic this way.

Your second option is to actually post the questions youirself, and add your screencasts as part of the answer to those questions.

For example, let's say that you want to add a screencast on the costs of inflation. You can ask a question like What is the relationship between boom and bust economic cycles and inflation?, and add a written answer that contains your screencast.

The advantage of this approach is that you can add written explanations to complement the screencast, and that you can give a "feature article" feel to the answer.
