The tilt is responsible for minute and periodic changes of the distance of any surface element of the Earth, from the Sun. This period is 1 year, so this affects radiation levels periodically...


Centres of latitude circles (including poles) are solar orbiters moving along ellipses parallel to Earth's orbit, in parallel planes.
The centres of these paths lie on the axis of tilt.

Due to day-night spin of the Earth, any surface element moves in a path coiling around the elliptic path of the center (on the tilt axis) of its latitude circle.

Now, it is easy to understand the micro-periodic variation of the distance of every surface element from the Sun, that produces small periodic changes, in levels of solar radiation, upon the element.. .
