How does wavelengths of light differ from other waves?

If we restrict ourselves to electromagnetic waves, the answer is simple.

Explanation:

"Light" is a very small wavelength band of EM radiation, that is characterized by the fact that we can SEE it. All other EM radiation is invisible to us, although we can sometimes notice their effects: Infrared feels as warmth, Ultraviolet can burn our skin, and other EM waves can heat our food (microwave) or give us cancer.
