Explanation:

Nitrate salts are generally very soluble in water, the charge density of the anion is low in that it is distributed over 4 centres, i.e. #O=stackrel(+)N(-O)_2^(-)#. And there is an added complication here in that you can form a #"supersaturated solution"# of the nitrate..i.e. a solution that contains a quantity of solute GREATER than that amount which would be in equilibrium with undissolved solute.
