Explanation:

Alright so first thing you have to do is extrapolate the point when x is equal to 0, so you can determine your y-intercept if it's not given. When x is equal to 0 on this table, y is 5.
Y=mx+b
Since already have the y-intercept, we will now try to find the slope using it. Just pick any two points on the table and plug it in to that equation with b as 5 because that is your y-intercept. The reason why I'm using the slope-intercept linear model is because there is a constant change in y.
8=m+5
m is 3.
Another way to find m would be to use the slope formula.
