How would the field of astrophysics be enhanced by a return trip to the moon?

I think there are significant contributions that can be made.
Explanation:
For example, the dark side of the moon would provide an excellent location (low temp, low e-m noise) location for a radio or infrared telescope.
It would provide a ‘staging post’ for other missions.
It could help answer questions about the formation of the earth-moon system.
I’m sure there are many others, but these are the ones I can remember reading about recently.
