Is a sebaceous gland apocrine, holocrine, or merocrine?
According to mode of secretion there are three types of exocrine glands in body:
Merocrine glands : secretion occurs as vesicles, no part of cell is shed.
Apocrine glands : a portion of cell is shed with secretion.
Holocrine glands : secretion occurs by whole cell being ruptured.
Sebaceous glands are holocrine gland.
