Simple diffusion

Osmosis is the movement of solvent particles (mostly water) down a concentration gradient through a partially permeable membrane. It is basically the diffusion of water molecules.

This is simple diffusion, as it doesn't require any energy in the form of #"ATP"# and enzymes to do, and is caused by the random motion of particles.
