Explanation:

I take ice cubes out of a freezer, and place it on the kitchen table. I wait an hour or so, and the tray contains water. I replace the tray in the freezer, and the water turns back into ice cubes.

Would not the freezing of mercury be reversible in the same way? The freezing point of mercury is approx. #-39# #""^@C#.
