Area of cross section is #4# units.

If we see the vertical cross section of the cone, as the cone is divided midway (#5# units is half of height #10#), using similar triangles, radius and diameter of cone at cross section will be half of that at the base.

As area of circular cross section is proportional to square of radius or diameter
