  • Skeletal system support and protect different body parts, most importantly central nervous system by formin bony encasings like cranium and vertebral column.

  • Bones are storehouse of minerals like calcium and phosphorus.

  • Red bone marrow within bones is the site of haematopoiesis i.e. it supplies blood cells.

  • Epiphyseal cartilage helps in growth of limbs (in length).

  • Joints in skeletal system along with muscles help in moving our body parts.

  • Eyes, ears, nose: three important sensory organs are lodged and protected inside skeletal structures.
