True or False Non Renewable means resources that can regenerate quickly?
Non renewable energy resources are resources that can be used up quickly and cannot regenerate .
False. Think about oil, a non-renewable resource that much of the world depends upon today. Outside of a lab environment, in nature, oil can take up to millions of years to form through catagenesis and become the drillable petroleum used today. That is why there is concern about oil dependence and wishes to explore renewable means of energy.
I would say false.
Non Renewable resources are resources whose existence is limited. After consumption they can never be regenerated or "renewed". For example coal or oil are nonrenewable resources because we can never use them again and their amount on the Earth is limited. On the other hand, we have solar or wind energy which we can use unlimitedly again and again and we won`t reduce its amount. That is why is that called renewable.
I hope that this helps.
