Cepheid variables (pulsating variable star) are special variable stars.
Explanation:
It changes in both brightness and size. One example of this pulsating variable star is the Polaris. It changes from bright to dim in a four-day cycle.
Pulsating variable star are called Cepheid variables because the first pulsating variable star was seen on the constellation Cepheus.
