Exothermic reactions are mainly used for heating.

Explanation:

Exothermic Reaction = A chemical reaction that disperses heat energy into the nearby surroundings.

Combustion is an exothermic reaction and we know that combustion (burning) is used every day when cooking etc.

Basically, they are used for anything where the surroundings need to be heated or warmed up.
