I once talked to an engineer at a nuclear plant and he told me that the waste produced by a nuclear power plant in a year would not fill a room; of course it has to be contained for a LONG period. Contrast this with the mountains of fly ash, and megatonnes of `CO_2` and `SO_2` emission produced in a year by a coal-fired generator.
