Sir Isaac Newton is credited for the foundation of modern physics and calculus (along with Leibniz). He first used calculus in around #1687#, and published it in his book Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica.

He managed to formulate the law of gravity #(F=(Gm_1m_2)/(r^2))#, classical mechanics (with formulas such as #vecF=mveca#), and also explained more clearly Kepler's laws of planetary motion.
