Explanation:
Certain compounds breakdown when heated, forming two or more products from one reactant.
Eg.
Copper carbonate -> Copper oxide + Carbon dioxide
Thermal decomposition reactions is usually endothermic as heat is required to break chemical bonds in the compound undergoing decomposition.
