Prophase 1 of meiosis is where the crossing-over occur.

Explanation:

Each of the homologous chromosome line up side by side, forming tetrads. While they lined up, segments of the chromosomes may be exchanged. This process is important as it promotes genetic diversity.

As Prophase 1 continues, the centrosomes move to opposite poles of the cell and spindle apparatus form.
