It is the minimum amount of energy required for particles to react.
Explanation:
Collision Theory is based on the idea of collisions taking place for a reaction to occur. Particles must collide with enough energy in order to react (energy enough to be equal to, or more than the activation energy). Without achieving the activation energy, a reaction will not occur.
