What is limiting reactant and percent yield?

The limiting reactant is the reactant that is consumed completely in a chemical reaction OR that produces the least number of moles of products in a chemical reaction.


Percent yield can be calculated by the formula

THEORETICAL YIELD: The quantity of product calculated from the balanced chemical equation is called theoretical yield of reaction.

ACTUAL YIELD: The quantity of product that is actually produced in a chemical reaction is called actual yield.
