What is self-efficacy?

Self-efficacy refers to an individual's belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performance attainments.


Essentially, self-efficacy means that you believe that you are capable of executing a certain task.

For example, a student who had an upcoming exam might feel a degree of self-efficacy because although they are nervous about whether or not they will pass the exam, they still believe that they are capable of passing.
