Celestial Sphere (CS) is a virtual sphere that is the combination of space hemispheres that we see every day and night. Celestial Dome (CD) in planetarium architecture is a sorely miniaturized CS.

The center of the CD is the observer in the planetarium. Equator is the reference plane for CS. The North and South Poles of CS are in the directions Earth's North and South Poles and are brought down to the planetarium dome as real. It is possible to design the CD referred to the latitude of the location of the planetarium.
