#1/2=0.5#

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why is that?
The structure of a decimal is:
Decimal point
#" "darr#
#"units" + 10^("ths") + 100^("ths")+1000^("ths")# + ..and so on
So lets see if we can convert #1/2# as one of these.
Multiply by 1 and you do not change the actual value. However, 1 coms in many forms.
#1/2 ->color(green)( [1/2color(red)(xx1)] " "=" "[1/2color(red)(xx5/5)] " "=" "(1xx5)/(2xx5)" "=" "5/10 )#
..........................................................................
So we have:
#"units" + 10^("ths") + 100^("ths")+1000^("ths")# + ..and so on
#" "darr" "darr#
#" "color(white)(.)0 + 5/10#
This is written as #0.5#
So #1/2=0.5#
