Actually, you can write 64 in exponential form as any of the following:

${2}^{6}$, ${4}^{3}$, ${8}^{2}$ or even ${64}^{1}$.

I think the questioner intended the first of these.

$64 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 = {2}^{6}$
