# What is the integral of sqrt(x)?

Dec 11, 2014

$\int \sqrt{x} \mathrm{dx}$

by rewriting the square-root as the 1/2-power,

$= \int {x}^{\frac{1}{2}} \mathrm{dx}$

by Power Rule,

$= \frac{{x}^{\frac{3}{2}}}{\frac{3}{2}} + C$

by cleaning up a bit,

$= \frac{2}{3} {x}^{\frac{3}{2}} + C$

I hope that this was helpful.
