What is the main basic structure of the dermis?
Papillary, reticular dermis and dermal papillae.
The dermis is located below the epidermis and above the subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis).
Essentially, this skin layer is composed of fibroblasts (connective tissue), macrophages (leucocyte), and adipocytes (lipid storage).
It is divided into three main parts or layers (in order):
- Dermal papillae
- Papillary dermis
- Reticular dermis
