What is the name of #"NO"^(3-)# ?

the information i can get keeps saying that it's nitrate, but isn't nitrate #"NO"_3^(-)# ?

Likely, #NO^(3-)# is a typo, when #"nitrate anion"#, #NO_3^-# was intended. AFAIK there is no such beast as #NO^(3-)#. On the other hand, there is a #"nitride anion"#, #N_3^-#, the conjugate base of #"hydrazoic acid"#, #HN_3#.
