The brightess star at Magnitude -1.46 in the Constellation of Canis Major. Being the brightess almost as bright as the planet venus one would consider it the most important. Even the Egyptians acknowledged its importance as the onset of the rise of this star in the east corresponded to the flooding of the Nile in Summer.

Sirius is twenty times brighter than our Sun and twice as massive.
