And this experiment consists of taking an impure sample of stuff, dissolving it up in hot solvent, filtering quickly thru filter paper to remove insoluble material, and bits of fluff, and then allowing the filtrate to stand undisturbed so that crystals form....(if you are lucky).

And this is the so-called #"recrystallization experiment"#..and most of the time you got to choose a solvent or a mixed solvent so that you get good macroscopic crystals...
