(x-8)^2 means (x-8)(x-8)

y = (x+7)(x-8)(x-8)
y = (x+7)(x^2-8x-8x+64)
y =(x+7)(x^2-16x+64)

then break the (x+7) up,
x(x^2-16x+64)+7(x^2-16x+64)

=x^3-16x^2+64x+7x^2-112x+448

=x^3-9x^2-48x+512 is your final answer
