There is just transfer of energy from one form of mechanical energy into another.

Explanation:

When you dive off diving board , you first press it downwards, causing it to store potential energy in it.

When it has maximum amount of potential energy stored in it, the diving board converts potential energy into kinetic energy and pushes it up in the air.

In the air, again kinetic energy converts into potential energy as gravity pulls one downward.

when the potential energy is maximum, you start to fall back towards the ground and just before you hit the water, all of the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy
