What type of dune forms at right angles to the wind when there is abundant sand, a |ack of vegetation, and a constant wind direction?
I am going to take a crack at this, but I am not an expert.
In meteorology the type of cloud bands that form at right angles to the wind due to oscillation of air are called transverse bands.
I think the way that right angled dunes form is similar so I would think they are called transverse.
Please do not take my word for it.
