# Which has greater kinetic energy a 2 kg mass moving at 3 m/s,or,a 1 kg mass moving at 6 m/s?

Kinetic energy is given by

${E}_{k} = \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}$ where $m$ is mass object, and $v$ velocity

In our case:

E_(k1)=1/2·2·9=9

E_(k2)=1/2·1·36=18 and we see

E_(k2)=2·E_(k1) and therefore ${E}_{k 2} > {E}_{k 1}$
