Will a supermassive black hole in our galaxy swallow our solar system?
The supermassive black hole is situated in the center of the Milky Way (our galaxy) and is 26,000 LIGHT YEARS apart. The distance between the solar system and the center of our galaxy is so massive that it cannot swallow our solar system. Also, the orbital velocity of the Sun around the center of the Milky Way (220km/h) keeps us from reeling in and being swallowed by the black hole.
In much more simpler words, no, the supermassive black hole cannot swallow our solar system.
