Will the light emitted by star be visible even if it has died?

Stars are very far away..The light takes time to travel and reach us.
Speed of light is 300,000 kilometers/second.

Explanation:

Take example of star Sirius the bright star in cannis major..It is 8.3 light years away from Us. Suppose the stars stop emitting light now we will continue to see it for another 8.3 years..The light which hits our retina now started from Sirius 8.3 years back.
