The term Quantitative refers to characteristics that have numeric value or a quantity. The mass of material or the temperature of a solution. This type of data is also referred to as Extensive Properties .

The term Qualitative refers to characteristics of description or quality.
The color of a material or the texture of an item. .his type of data is also referred to as Intensive Properties .
