What are the most common fission products of uranium 238?

1 Answer

U-238 is not able to undergo a chain reaction like U-235, which is used in nuclear power plants.

But, what is interesting about U-238 is that after 2 beta decays it becomes plutonium-239, which can undergo fission and be used in nuclear weapons.

Here is a visual for the decay of U-238.
