To make life easier, you first divide everything by `3`

`->x-2y=6` now add `2y` to both sides and subtract `6`

`->x-6=2y` divide both sides by `2`
`->1/2 x -3=y->y=1/2 x-3`

Where `1/2` is the slope, and `-3` is the `y`-intercept
All parallel lines will have the same slope.
