How do you write 5+3x in standard form?

x=-5/3

5+3x=0

3x=-5

x=-5/3

This should be pretty self-explanatory ;)

In standard form 5+3x is 3x+5.

The convention is to gather the highest order terms together first followed by the next highest order, down to any constant term.

For example, 2+6x^2y^2-3x^3 would be written as:

6x^2y^2-3x^3+2

The order of the first term is 2+2 = 4, the next 3 and the order of the constant term is 0.
