3/4=0.75

Explanation:

Divide 3 by 4 to get 0.75

The division in this case is a bit tricky due to the fact that you have to divide something small 3 into something bigger 4.

as you can see at the start we borrow a zero to make our 3 into a 30 but we have to "signal" this loan by adding a 0, into the result; then we take another zero (in red) to form a 20 and finish our division.

Here is another method.

Explanation:

3/4 can be converted to a fraction x/100.

How? In the denominator, 4xx\color(red)(25)=100. So we do the same for the numerator:
3/4\color(red)((xx25)/(xx25))=(3xx25)/100=\color(blue)(75)/100

Dividing by 100 means you move the decimal point backwards two digit spaces. So from the numerator value 75.00 you move two back, and you have 0.7500 or 0.75.

(the 0's are there so you can see the decimal point. They actually don't count)
