Explanation:

Atoms in a solid are very tightly bonded together. This means the atoms are very close and don't move around one another like in a liquid. And they aren't completely free from each other like in a gas.

Since the atoms are so close, they vibrate in place and hold their shape.

Unless you melt the solid, it will hold it's shape naturally.
