What is the difference between a Eukaryote and a Prokaryote?

Eukaryotes have developed nucleus where as prokaryotes are undeveloped cells and do not have nucleus.

Eukaryotes :

  • Endoplasmic reticulum is present
  • They are of size of around 40 micro metres.
  • They have DNA confined within the chromosomes.
  • They have double membrane components.

Prokaryotes :

  • No Endoplasmic reticulum.
  • Sized 0.5 -5 micro meters.
  • Circular and naked DNA.
  • No double membrane components.
