Explanation:

Always remember (actually helps in the SAT :p) that slope of the line passing through two points (x1,y1) , (x2,y2) is
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Here x1=5, x2=2, y1=1, y2=7

Putting these in formula we get

m=(7-1)/(2-5)

m=6/(-3)

m=-2

Additional note: If you want to go a step further and find the angle of between the line and x-axis, the formula is

theta=tan^-1 m
