Explanation:

Always remember (actually helps in the SAT :p) that slope of the line passing through two points #(x1,y1) , (x2,y2)# is
#m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)#

Here x1=5, x2=2, y1=1, y2=7

Putting these in formula we get

#m=(7-1)/(2-5)#

#m=6/(-3)#

#m=-2#

Additional note: If you want to go a step further and find the angle of between the line and x-axis, the formula is

#theta=tan^-1 m#
