How do you solve the system $y= -2+ln(x-1)$ , $3y+2x=9$ ?

I found $x=5.31$ and $y=-0.54$ , but....

I used a graphical method plotting (using Excel) the two equations as functions of $x$ where:
f1 is $y=-2+ln(x-1)$ (blue)
f2 is $y=-2/3x+3$ (red)

and I got:

I know...it`s kinda cheating but it is the best I could work out!

How do you solve the system y= -2+ln(x-1)y= -2+ln(x-1), 3y+2x=93y+2x=9?
