Diffusion is the net movement of molecules or atoms from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration. This process is called passive transport and doesnot require energy.
Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of water molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration through a semi-permeable membrane and is a type of diffusion
